Application Form

Please make a new post with your in-game NAME and CLASS as the subject. Alternatively, you may PM your application in duplicate to Tehalbino and Gokes. Copy and paste the form below and fill in the answers. Also be sure to have read the Application Checklist sticky in the Recruitment forums. Please do not delete the questions.

Character

Please briefly summarize your gear quality/level and post an armory.worldofwarcraft.com link. Your main spec's gear should be displayed on the official Armory. If you think your main spec's gear might not be displayed on the official Armory at some point, include a profile link that has it (such as chardev.org).

What is your preferred talent build? Discuss why you chose this spec over other possibilities. If you play a hybrid class, will you be able to respec according to the raid group's needs? If so, what other talent builds can you accommodate (skillwise and gearwise)?

Game Play

What days and times are you available/unavailable during the course of the week?

If accepted, when is the earliest you can start raiding with Death Wish?

What World of Warcraft PvE end-game experience do you have (Before and After BC)? Be specific. (eg. 5/6 in SSC, 1/4 in TK working on Vashj).

What games have you played at a 'hardcore' level? Please briefly describe your experience with these games.

Each raid will most likely involve using a large quantity of consumables. Are you self-sufficient when it comes to being prepared with consumables?

Having at least the best gear obtainable outside of raid instances is mandatory, and they should be enchanted and socketed with the best enchants and gems. Do you agree to this?

Death Wish raids many days a week with Mondays through Thursdays being the most vital. When new high end raid dungeons are available to us, we typically spend every night in that instance for about six hours. There are also outdoor raid bosses that may require our immediate attention. We also may decide to extend our normal raiding time beyond our scheduled raid time. You may be asked to stay with the raid until we quit for the night. Are you comfortable with this?

Are you willing to install, copy to, and participate in the PTR to help us get a jump on new content?

Do you enjoy WoW PvP/Arena? List any notable accomplishments you feel you have made regarding this.

Player desirablity is low-medium for every class. Openings for raid spots are competitive and you may not be guaranteed a raid spot every time, especially during your trial period. Are you comfortable with this?

Describe what you think is your defining quality. What will make us want to recruit you over someone else? Realize that a majority of applications contain some variant of a "want to be the best".

Death Knight

Do you have a beta account?

Have you played a Death Knight yet (premade or otherwise)?

If you are currently playing a premade Death Knight, what level have you gotten a Death Knight to?

If you have not yet played a Death Knight, why do you feel that you will be adequate to fill a Death Knight raid spot?

When WOTLK hits live, how long will it take you to get your Death Knight to level 80?

What type of gear would you gear a Death Knight with (i.e. what attributes do you feel are important to a Death Knight):
For tanking?

Things are ever changing on beta and Death Knights has been one of the classes with the most drastic changes since they are a new class to the game. Please provide another viable spec in case the spec above gets nerfed. What is the best ability rotation for this spec/build?

Druid

What is a Druid's role in an end game instance?

What is the difference between a good and bad Druid?

Please briefly explain how a Druid should equip himself for PvE. How should each statistic (eg. Intellect, Crit%, Spell Hit%, Defense, Spell Damage, etc...) be considered, and why?

Druid is a hybrid-class that can legitimately fulfill multiple roles in PvE raiding. What can a Druid do to prepare in case the guild requires him to play a different role than he is currently specced for?

Which classes are likely to receive an Innervate from you? Under what circumstances should you Innervate them?

Which classes are likely to receive a Rebirth from you? Under what circumstances should you Rebirth them?

Balance Druids: Fill out the Mage class section. You don't have to re-answer the above questions in the class section.

Restoration Druids: When healing in raid-PvE, what spells and ranks do you most commonly use? When do you use them and why?

Feral Druids: Explain the different times you would use each of the aggro-generating abilities and explain why you would use them? Are there times and instance where you would use certain abilities over others? If so, list them.

Feral Druids: In a fight that requires only 1 tank, you are assigned to DPS. How would you change your gear?

Hunter

What is a Hunter's role in an end game instance?

What is the difference between a good and bad Hunter?

Please briefly explain how a Hunter should equip himself for PvE. How should each statistic (eg. Intellect, Crit%, Spell Hit%, Defense, Spell Damage, etc...) be considered, and why?

How important is movement and positioning to a Hunter in PvE? Please explain and use examples.

What shot cycle do you use to maximize your dps? Under what circumstances would you alter this cycle?

Paladin

In a group with multiple Paladins, how can they ensure that the raid is getting the most benefit from Paladin blessings?

List any and all uses of Blessing of Protection and Divine Shield, and briefly explain when and how they should be used.

Cleansing is often just as important as healing in certain PvE situations. Please explain how you balance your dispelling and other duties in the raid.

Holy Paladins: When healing in raid-PvE, what spells and ranks do you most commonly use? When do you use them and why?

Retribution Paladins: What is your DPS rotation?

Retribution Paladins: Why would a Retribution Paladin be desired for a 25-man raid?

Protection Paladins: What is the benefit of having a Protection Paladin tank over Druids and Warriors?

Priest

What is a Priest's role in an end game instance?

What is the difference between a good and bad Priest?

Please briefly explain how a Priest should equip himself for PvE. How should each statistic (eg. Intellect, Crit%, Spell Hit%, Defense, Spell Damage, etc...) be considered, and why?

If a 25-man PvE raid group had three Priests, how would you spec each of them? Explain.

A Priest is often tasked with ensuring his teammates' survival or returning mana and health as Shadow. In a raid PvE encounter, what can a Priest do to ensure his own survival?

Dispelling is often just as important as healing in certain PvE situations. Please explain how you balance your dispelling and other duties.

Suppose you were fighting a boss that allows you to put out DPS for long periods of time without stopping. What type of cycle would you use (eg. SS to 5 CP, SND, SS to 1 CP, Rupture, Repeat)?

Please list the weaknesses of a melee DPS class, compared to ranged DPS classes? What can a Rogue do to counteract these weaknesses?

A Rogue has several countermeasures to ensure that he does not die from pulling aggro. Please explain which of these abilities you use, and how you use them.

Shaman

What is a Shaman's role in an end game instance?

What is the difference between a good and bad Shaman?

Please briefly explain how a Shaman should equip himself for PvE. How should each statistic (eg. Intellect, Crit%, Spell Hit%, Defense, Spell Damage, etc...) be considered, and why?

List three totems that are important to a Shaman. Please briefly describe how these are used to benefit the raid.

Under what circumstances should a Shaman use Reincarnation?

When healing in raid-PvE, what spells and ranks do you most commonly use? When do you use them and why?

Restoration Shamans: When healing in raid-PvE, what spells and ranks do you most commonly use? When do you use them and why?

Enhancement Shamans: What is your spec's roles in the raid group? Why should we include an enhancement Shaman in the raid?

Elemental Shamans: What is your spec's roles in the raid group? Why should we include an Elemental Shaman in the raid?

Warlock

What is a Warlock's role in an end game instance?

What is the difference between a good and bad Warlock?

Please briefly explain how a Warlock should equip himself for PvE. How should each statistic (eg. Intellect, Crit%, Spell Hit%, Defense, Spell Damage, etc...) be considered, and why?

Please give examples of at least two viable PvE raiding builds, and a brief description of the pros and cons of each.

For your particular PvE raiding build (specify), please briefly explain how to maximize your DPS. You may want to explain when and how you use each spell, how frequently DoTs are refreshed, how each cooldown is utilized, etc..

Are there any situations where you feel it is not beneficial or not appropriate to use DoTs? Explain your answer.

Warlocks are often prone to aggro-related problems. What can a Warlock do to counteract this? Explain your answer.

What purpose do Warlock pets have in PvE?

In addition to your own DPS, how else can a Warlock contribute to a PvE raid group?

Warrior

What is a Warrior's role in an end game instance?

What is the difference between a good and bad Warrior?

Please briefly explain how a Warrior should equip himself for PvE. How should each statistic (eg. Intellect, Crit%, Spell Hit%, Defense, Spell Damage, etc...) be considered, and why?

DPS Warriors: What is/are the talent points that affect your DPS the most and why? Are there substitutes for other talent points that would increase your overall DPS in raids?

DPS Warriors: Please list the weaknesses of a melee DPS class, compared to ranged DPS classes? What can a ogue do to counteract these weaknesses?

DPS Warriors: Please give a description as to how rage should be managed as a DPS Warrior. Which abilities should your rage be spent on?
