There is a big discussion on our realm forums SSL > EU about post patch progression kills. Alot of ppl that didnt have the chance to see SWP prepatch, (we are a rp-pvp slow pve realm ) are being battered over the head cause still posting on the realm progression thread. I was in a guild that killed Kalecgos and Brutallus prepatch and are now with my friends in a guild that killed Illidan prepatch but we didnt manage to kill anything in swp until the patch hit. Though we didnt have more then 2 nights in there prepatch.
I was curious what you guys think about this? Are the progression threads for leet epeen stroking of the very few that manage to collect the best and most active pvers on a low pop rp-pvp server or is it, in your opinion, still ok to say, Look we did it even though we know its nerfed?
Oh yeah and btw, Im afraid i have to say Im ignorant enough to not know your guild at all, I just fell upon your vids that I think are the sweetest thing ever. Undead forums troll
In my opinion, its nothing to be overly proud of. It's there to say, "Hey, we got to see this encounter before the expac". As far as the fights go, they are a complete joke and can be done by almost anyone now.
I dont think that anyone of us thats in SWP getting a new kill every night or so are proud like "oh look at me /le dance" or anything. I mean, we to feel the insane difference in BT etc where you practically just nudge the stuff over and ask for loot now days. I dont know. I was just curious about what others thats not infested with our normal drama on ssl thought about it cheers for the reply Undead forums troll
It's too close to the expac to care anymore, really. I'd say don't sweat it. The nerf was only so big because it took the real "hard" part out of the encounters, which was the tight DPS requirements, not so much the mechanics of the fight.
Largely, the "progression" threads are being maintained by those who feel the need to belittle others' achievements. If you were able to get 25 people together and go in and kill the bosses, grats to that. Don't let the "elitists" take the accomplishment away from you. Honestly who care's if you couldn't do pre-nerf content? You gave it your best shot and it wasn't necessarily good enough at the time, but you stuck it out and now you can kill them. I think being able to proudly display your accomplishments is a great thing, especially in a game that requires so much dedication to get anywhere. It boosts the morale of the guild and makes the game more enjoyable for the players involved. Guilds post screenshots of kills on the front page of their websites, they go out of their way to have their status updated on various progression-tracking websites, and they post their progress on realm forums. They do so to express pride in what they've worked hard to earn.
IMO, it's not about belittling the achievements of anyone who isn't as far progressed then them. If someone feels belittled by someone else's success, it's just a jealousy issue.
Awe Grats Tehalbino! Have a cookie and Im sure you got some tauren around you can ask for milk of.
No, seriously, thanks for the input guys.
We just killed Felmyst and this is as far as Ive seen prepatch so its all very exciting to see new and more stuff even though every encounter is nerfed to bits. And as Gokes said who know given the time we mightve been here one day anyway.
